In-line citations

In-text, or in-line citations are a structured way to cite your sources in the body of a paper. They are paired with a reference list that provides additional details about the source. You include an in-text citation when you paraphrase or quote a source.

References

References work together with in-text citations to document your research. In-text citations provide a shorthand way of identifying the source and the reference provides all the publication details of the source.
