Research Support

All FSU community members are welcome to stop by and get help with library research and citation questions at the Research & Learning Walk-Up Help Desk on the Upper Mezzanine (on the opposite side from the Curriculum Library). You can also schedule in-person appointments.

But if you can't make it to the Library - or even to campus, in person - there are several other ways to get your questions answered:

  • e-mail
  • phone
  • chat services (chat widget tab to start a chat is on the lower right of every library page)
  • chat service co-op coverage during the hours that we are not open
  • scheduled Zoom appointments
  • online research help guides

Interlibrary Loan Requests

Now Live: Tipasa - A New Way to Interlibrary Loan!

The library has migrated to a new interlibrary loan system, Tipasa. This cloud-based management system dramatically improves and simplifies the user experience. The new My Account interface allows library users to easily and quickly submit interlibrary loan requests and track them in real time. Users will also have the option to setup email or text notifications and customize the digital delivery of requested electronic materials.

Login to Tipasa HERE to activate your account, place new requests, and manage current requests.

The Whittemore Seed Library

The FSU community is welcome to borrow from our Seed Library (and hopefully some day contribute back seeds they were able to harvest). The seeds are in paper packets that are filed in a wooden card catalog located directly across from the Access Services Desk.

Full details here in our Seed Library guide

Library Tours

FSU community patrons may request group or individual tours of the Whittemore Library from our Student Engagement Coordinator.
