Blocking/Edging is done to give the collection a neat, orderly appearance.

Shelf Reading Cont.
If you are shelving and or blocking and find a particular section to be overcrowded, look at the shelves above and below to see if there is any room.
Shelves should only be about 2/3 filled.
If there is room, some minor shifting of books should be done to accommodate that area.
If an area is overcrowded and there is no room to shift books, please let a supervisor know right away.
