Scholarly articles, also called academic or research articles, are key to research in the biological sciences. Use the resources below to locate academic articles. When searching for scholarly articles, you may be required to find primary research articles. This means articles that report on original research. Ram Search searches across almost everything the Whittemore Library subscribes to, making it a great starting point for your research. You can also check-out the discipline-specific databases listed below for research in the biological sciences. A discipline-specific database includes only literature from a particular discipline.
Sometimes you may wish to browse or search within a particular journal. You can use the Full-text Journal Finder to locate journals that you know the name of by using the search feature or you can browse by subject.
