Welcome to the ERP Method, or Emergency Revision Procedure Method! Here you'll find three videos that will help you condense your prose for clarity. The first video introduces you to what Professor Richard Lanham has called "The Official Style," and what we call peacockery! The second video introduces you to the ERP Method and shows you steps that will help you improve your writing by cutting the fluff and peacockery from it. Finally, the third video walks you through a few extra steps and tips for managing sentence length and style. These videos have all been directly adapted from Richard A.
