The Whittemore Library website is the perfect place to begin research. You can access our resources for research and find research assistance right from our website! 

Research is necessary when you have a topic that you need to locate information on, or when you are writing an assignment or paper that you must support with sources. While it may seem confusing at first, the library is here to help.

Research Support in the Library

Are you looking for in-person research help?

  • Come to the first-floor reference desk (located next to the Silent Reading Room) for Librarian assistance! Our hours are listed below:
    • Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4:30pm
    • Friday from 10am to 2:30pm
  •  An in-person research appointment can be scheduled online.

Are you looking for resources to help with your research?

  • Our research guides are customized collections of resources that can guide you in your research! Our guides focus on a variety of subjects and topics.  
 
  • The Library Research Skills Guide is an amazing resource for learning how to perform research! From this guide, you can learn to: plan your research, choose the right source, perform online searching, evaluate your sources, and use the information in your sources!
  • The citation guide contains an outline of multiple citation styles! This provides advice on ways to avoid plagiarism and cite properly.

For Faculty: Research Instruction Requests

Librarians are able to schedule class sessions to instruct and assist with research and information literacy. This must be requested by faculty members.

Faculty members can request library instruction, library introduction sessions, and library tours services by filling out the digital form.
