Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the general system of cooperative exchange of items among institutions for their patrons. ILL requests for journal articles or books can be created, submitted, and managed through our Tipasa ILL My Account page.
You will be notified when your requested materials (PDFs) are available. They will be accessible via a link in a notification e-mail, or via a link on the ILL My Account page. Articles become available fairly quickly, usually within a few days to a week.
Print books that you have requested via our ILL system can be picked up at the Circulation Desk upon e-mail notification of their arrival. Since these are mailed via USPS, they can take longer (several days to a week or more, depending on the location of the library which has loaned them) to arrive at the Whittemore Library. When done using these, return them to the staff at the Circulation Desk.
Note to Distance-Only Faculty: Since we are not able to provide Distance-Only FSU faculty with ILL loans of physical books, please check our Ebsco e-Books Collection and other eBook databases for suitable monographs, and if we do not have a specific book you are seeking there, please contact your local public library to inquire about your region's local ILL services.
You may, of course, use your Tipasa ILL My Account page to request and receive digital PDF copies of articles.
