Welcome to the Henry Whittemore Library.
The library staff is pleased to have you join
our team as a Student Assistant. Student
Assistants are a vital part of the library. You
provide service to the patrons, maintain
the shelves and work on special projects,
often with a minimum of supervision.
Without you, operations at the library
would come to a halt.
Student Workers Handbook
Here is a user-friendly version of the handbook. Use the tabs to navigate to specific pages. Make sure you are familiar with the content of the handbook before your first shift. If you have aby questions, please feel free to ask them at any time.
Mission
The Whittemore Library is central to the academic life at Framingham State University. Our primary responsibility is to collect, organize, maintain and provide access to all forms of information required by the undergraduate and graduate curricula.
We provide instruction in the effective use of these information resources. Additionally, the library endeavors to meet the needs of the university community for general informational, cultural and recreational materials.
We also perpetuate the heritage of Framingham State University through the preservation of the university's publications, documents and historical records, as well as significant paintings and artifacts.
In order to achieve these goals the library recruits, trains and develops the necessary professional and support staff.
