- Click on the Sign In link on the upper right of the Minuteman Catalog Search page
- A pop-up window will appear. Just below the sign in boxes, click on Reset or Create New Password
- (IMPORTANT: Do NOT choose the Register for a New Library Card option - it will not get you an FSU library card)
- The pop-up window will disappear, and you will be back on the Minuteman site.
The page will say:
To reset or create a new password, enter your barcode or username. You must have an email associated with your account to reset or create a password. If you do not, please contact the library.
- Since you are creating a new login to access your patron account on the Minuteman site, enter your FSU library account number (the long number on the back of your FSU ID). If you do not have an ID with a barcode and its number, contact Access Services by phone or e-mail to obtain that number.
- After entering your library account number, click the Reset or Create New Password button
- Minuteman will then send a password reset 'token' code to your FSU e-mail
- Either click on the CREATE NEW PASSWORD link in the e-mail, or copy/paste the Reset Token from the e-mail into the box on the Minuteman site and click the Next button
- The next page will have two boxes where you can type, then confirm your password by re-typing it. The password instructions will say:
Passwords must be between 3 and 30 characters. Do not include special characters, such as punctuation. Do not include characters that are repeated 3 or more times (aaa, aaaa...) or a set of 2, 3, or 4 characters is that is repeated 2 or more times (abab, abcabc, abcdabcd...)
- When you have typed and re-typed your password, click the Update button
- As long as you didn't add anything to your password that Minuteman told you not to, the next page will say: Your password has been created.
- Click on the Continue to login button.
- Login with your library card number and your new password..
- You will now be on the Your Account page!
