Media literacy is a person's ability to critically analyze the information presented to them in the media. This is most important in the realms of the news media, social media, and movies & TV.

Why is Media Literacy Important?

A media literate person can distinguish between facts vs opinions and accurate information vs misinformation/disinformation. The less media literate a person is, the more susceptible they are to manipulations at the hands of the media.

How Are Media Literacy and AI Related?

AI is not always accurate in its answers and summaries, which requires the user to fact check the information presented. AI generated content, such as text, is also not sophisticated, which further requires people to do the hard work for themselves.
