Welcome to the Team, Molly Jencks!

Back in May, the Henry Whittemore Library welcomed its newest staff member, Molly Jencks. As our latest Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, Molly succeeds longtime staff member Suzanne Meunier, who retired this past January after 25 years at Framingham State. Ms. Jencks can be reached at mjencks@framingham.edu and shares a few fun facts about herself below: 

Can you share a bit about your background? Where are you from and where did you go to school?
I was born and raised in Rhode Island. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island.
What brought you to FSU? What is your position and what does a typical work day consist of?
I’m the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, I make sure that the FSU community can find and access resources by making sure those materials are properly described in the catalog.
What are you most excited about for the upcoming school year?
Since I started in the spring during finals week, I am most excited to get meet the students and see activity on the campus.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work? Any hobbies? Pets?
I have two cats, Billy and Tybalt, who are the best, cutest, and most handsome cats in the world. I enjoy painting and going on hikes.
What book/TV series/movie are you enjoying at the moment? Any recent favorites to recommend?
One of my favorite books is Project Hail Mary so I am looking forward to the upcoming film adaptation.
